Fancy a bike ride? Not sure where to go? Nervous about cycling on the road? Let me introduce Let's Ride UK bike rides for women, an initiative from British Cycling aiming to get more women riding bikes for fun.
My name is Anne Taylor and I organise regular local rides for women. These are free social rides open to all to cycle for pleasure. You can contact me by email - email@example.com
I've always enjoyed cycling and believe it's a great way to get around locally, meet people, explore in the fresh air, and keep fit into the bargain! Throughout the summer a small but enthusiastic group of lovely ladies have enjoyed a weekly Tuesday evening ride. All abilities are welcome - no-one gets left behind and you get a new view of your local area from two wheels! So why not join us? All you need is a roadworthy bike and a helmet and I can lend both if necessary. We have now teamed up with CycleChic (www.cyclechic.co.uk) please take look at their website and their Blog to see articles about the Treacle Tarts cycling group.

We meet twice a month on the first Sunday and third Tuesday with all the rides starting at the Pingles Leisure Centre, Nuneaton. Please check out the website www.letsride.co.uk for all the cycling dates.

Weekend Away 5 / 6 September 2020
On Saturday 5 September 11 ladies, (7 Treacle Tarts, 1 Purl Jam WI and 3 Lets Ride UK members) met at the Pingles Leisure Centre and set off to Leamington Spa via the leafy lanes of Warwickshire. It was a lovely sunny day with a good temperature for cycling. We set off through Bulkington, Shilton, Ansty, Binley with a coffee and cake stop at the Tea Rooms at Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve. Our route then took us via Woolston, Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Birdingbury and Radford stopping for lunch along the way at Draycote Water. In the late afternoon we arrived in Leamington Spa and stayed at the Premier Inn. We had cycled 37 miles in total.
After an excellent evening meal, a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast we were all ready to set off back to Nuneaton. Ending the day with a Sunday lunch at Egos in Nuneaton. Sunday's ride was a mere 21 miles.
Another great weekend. A big Tarts thank you to everyone who supported, mended punctures and put chains back onto bikes.
